Computational Sciences Day 2013

This one-day conference aims at bringing together UoC scientists from a broad range of research fields that have a common focus on quantitative modeling using computer-based simulations. It will provide an informal setting to exchange ideas for researchers from such varying backgrounds as biology, chemistry, computer science, economy, geosciences, mathematics, neurology, and the physical sciences. All speakers are asked to give pedagogical overview talks of their scientific field and the modeling approaches used in their
research.

The conference will simultaneously serve as a venue of the competence area "Quantitative modeling of complex systems", whose formation is part of the institutional strategy of the University of Cologne.

The conference is open to the public and student participation is highly encouraged.
